Maybe some of you gun guys can help me out. Building an AR. Picking up a Spikes Tactical lower in the morning. Using a DPMS Orical upper. My question is about iron sights. What do I need for that upper? The rail on the gas block sits a little lower than the rail on the upper. Would love to just go with a Eotec but I have very limited funds on this build.
 
Email YHM and Midwest Ind. One of them makes a front sight to account for it being lower. A buddy of mine got it for his. Or like people said above, swap the gas block out.

Money is tight so keeping the gas block for now. Planning on changing the block out and going with free float hand guard at some point.
 
Either way...if a sight is to be mounted on a gas block, you may want the gas block pinned. I do not trust sight alignment to be true with a gas block that is mounted with set screws. Just my 2 cent. EoTechs are great but you may want to look through one before a purchase. Also, keep in mind, do you want to keep batteries for an optic during the zombie apocalypse? Happy building! It would probably be more economical to buy a good rear sight and an a2 sight/block than to get a folding front sight that won't work on the tube late on. Just my. 02
 
just get a folding front sight labeled for gas block. petty much and the main builders like Troy make "gas block" front sights. A2 is fine and dandy until you get a scope or a acog with magnification then you have a nice blurry hunk of alum in your field of view.

Just got the lower and bolt carrier group today. They were out of the parts kits,got to pick them the stock and buffer tube up tomorrow.
It will end up being the DPMS upper with Fail Zero bolt carrier and Spikes Tactical Crusader lower with CMMG parts kit.
 
I have an AR 15 DPMS MOE Warrior. At least it started out that way. Now it has an ARPerformance 18" fluted 3-gun 5R Wyle chambered fluted barrel,with the ARPerformance Bolt and flash hider/compensator, a Troy Industries low profile gas block, a Troy Industries Alpha rail, an Ergo pistol grip, an ACE skeleton stock, a Nikon ProStaff 5 mildot and Yankee Hill quick takdown pins. I can have the whole setup in a short bag in 15 seconds. QD mounts that normally hold zero for the scope. Love this gun. Now does anyone want to buy a bunch of MOE parts that have never been fired through or over?
 
Im looking for a Magpul MOE fixed rifle stock. Have a LMT SOPMOD stock to trade....sweet build man.
