I just heard from what I consider a reliable source that the Arkansas Legislator repealed the 3.5” max blade length and the Governor signed it.

Does anyone else have any information on this?

in arkansas it is not legal to carry a handgun club or knife with the intent to use it as a weapon.. if you carry a knife with a blade in excess of 3'' it is considered prima facia evidence that it is intended as a weapon. I just sat through a class to renew my ccw on 2-14. According to the instructor (who is an LEO) the above is the law they will hold to. hope this helps.

No longer! Hoooray! The 3.5 inch part of the law has been repealed! I wish I knew if this means I can cc a fixed blade 8 inch or longer knife...not as a weapon of course. The repeall was called 1235.

FOR OFFICIAL CONFIRMATION:

Go to this page: http://www.arkleg.state.ar.us/

In the bottom left, there are two boxes. One says "View Act", the other says "View Bill". Type in "HB1235" in the "View Bill" box, and hit enter. A history of the bill is presented, with the latest entry being for Feb 9 and stating that that the Bill became Act 83. Type in "83" in the "View Act" box, and hit enter. A window will pop up with the document.

How long will it take for LEO's to become aware of this?

My guess is that it might be wise to be discreet in exercising these new knife rights for the time being.
