When my Strider AR is closed, I can still push down on the spine of the blade and the blade kind of "bounces" back up. It's only a little, but enough for me to notice. Is this normal?

Also, I thought my AR was adhesiveless, but when I was cleaning it last night for the first time, I realized it wasn't. What's the difference/advantage/disadvantages between the adhesive and non-adhesive models?

Last one. When the knife is open, the lock face doesn't touch the tang fully. It touches towards the bottom, but I can see a gap towards the top where the lock doesn't touch the tang of the blade. Is this normal?

Thank in advance for any help you guys can give.

The bounce is produced by the washer adhesion to the blade itself. As long as the blade does not start creeping out by itself, you should have no problem.

The adhesive was used so that a large D-shaped bronze washer could be used to in the pivot. This washer gives the knife alot more lateral strength and stability.

This setup has been unsuccessful for a few folders.

Currently, new folders are made with a smaller washer and no adhesive.

SarcoBlaster,

You're pretty lucky here. Mick Strider is a great customer service guy, and this problem has been researched in depth.

I'm a loyal Strider client, and half of the deal is that I never have to worry. And I mean even if the knife catches fire or a mauling hammer falls on it; a Strider knife is Mick's problem, and he will go through hoops to make sure you're happy.

I put Mick with business guys like Edge Pro's Ben Dale, Terry at Tussey Custom, and Mike over at Dillon Precision. Surround yourself with guys like this and 'worry' no longer appears in you lexicon.

In order for a liner/frame lock to not have blade play, there should be a gap towards the top of the locking face. This is normal. There is a chapter in Bob Terzuola's book about this, and apparently it is rather important.
