A picture was recently posted of an AR that had something black attached to the thumb lug. To me it appeared to be a makeshift wave device ( Emerson wave ) There were a few inquiries as to what it might be
but no response was forth coming. For the life of me I can not locate the photographs. Has anyone seen or have any info on it? Thanks
 
I don't think that the Strider guys would copy a wave as they are good friends with Ernie Emerson. Was it a mod by a second party or the owner?
 
Maybe "Wave " was a poor choice of words. It was not integrated into the blade, but looked like a
replacement thumb stud. I also think maybe I should let this question die. Don't want to cuss any waves.:footinmou
 
Might have been the little O ring some of the guys are putting on the thumb stud to help gain purchase when opening the knife. Did you see the picture of the knife in question? Did you or the person looking at the picture read the things under the picture? Those words might have helped describe what is going on in the picture.

The device you saw on the AR was mine. It is not a Wave. It was somthing me and a friend was playing with. It's concept was a thumb rest and something to help open the blade. I have big hands and some times my thumb would roll off the thumb stud. this device just gave me a little extra catch. Please do not think it is a wave.
