Greetings all, last night I opened the safe and hauled out a bunch of knives to fondle/sharpen etc. and compare to each other. One of the knives I took out was a nice little 1095 drop point with sambar stag handles. It is a thin and pointy convex edged hunter, about 3.5"-4" blade. In comparison to a couple similar Doziers, Camerer, Lamey, Primos, and Bark Rivers, this one seemed like it would do the best job. Keep in mind, I haven't dressed a deer with any of them, but it had the keenest and thinnest edge of all of them. I found this a little surprising given the quality of it's competition.
The maker's name is Karl Zimmerman, and he is located in Arbor Vitae Wisconsin, which is right next to Minoqua and near Eagle River for reference. I picked up this knife at the Badger show in Janesville Wisconsin this past March. I didn't pay too much attention to the rest of this knives as this one spoke to me, and I was also preoccupied with watching and playing with Danbo's collection, which was right behind Karl's table.
Does anybody else have any of his pieces? I do not have a website for him, but do have a phone number for anyone interested. I don't have any pics, but can ATTEMPT to take and post some... keeping in mind I am somewhat of a retard in this endeavor.
