I have seen knives where the makers explain they use an arbor press then peen.

Is the arbor press used compress & expand the pin to ensure a tight fit, then peened to press the bolster tight against the blade? Should I get an arbor press for my bolster pins?

I should get my first blade back from HT in the next day or two and am thinking of the final steps to finish it up. Any info greatly appreciated. Excited about finishing the first knife!

I use a little jack press to push em in sometimes. Mostly though a small polished hammer for the peening. Peening is only moveing the metal on the outside of the bolster. tap,tap,tap,tap....

Learn how to hand rivit first.Gentle taps, not crushing blows.A press requires some skill, unless you like the look of crooked knives.
