Arc AAA-P or Fenix LOP

For general pocket carry, which would you chose? I have a e2e w/ the 25 lumen lamp which I would probably switch back to the 60 if I got the Fenix.

So, my question is for those who have both. Is the Fenix 30 lumen rating reliable? What about the runtime (I'll be using rechargeable NiMH's so this is more of a use than economic issue). How are the current AAA-P's as far as quality, dependability and brightness? Can I expect a significant increase over my older Arc?

I use my pocket light often, several times a day. The AAA i've been carrying for 4 years is simply not bright enough for ambient light conditions (still does great in the dark).

I only want an AAA light due to the small size. I know the answer may seem obvious but the US just set another trade deficit record with China so that is factoring into my decision, even if it may not matter to you.

Thanks.

The Fenix is quite a nice light. I really love the ARC construction, especially the knurling, but the Fenix is much brighter and a very well made light. You can't really go wrong with either.

I agree with Snow, I have both, the Arc is definately made much better, but the Fenix is much brighter. 30 Lumens? Probably not quite that, but very bright for it's size.

I like both the Arc AAA and the Fenix LOP to include the Special Edition too.

I'll give the nod to the Arc for scratch resistance and overall rugedness plus runtime -- output is about 7 lumens.

The Fenix LOP's output is about 16 lumens.

However, the Fenix LOP's Special Edition (sells for $39) has three levels of output with the highest being about 30 lumens.

Get what best suits your needs or buy both!

I agree with the others... I own both and while the Arc AAA-P is my EDC secondary, the L0P is much more a primary EDC... I carry the L0P when I go out and expect to be back before dark (as opposed to a 2xCR123 light when I'll be out and about in the dark).

I haven't coughed up the dough for an L0P-SE but the reviews are overwhelmingly positive and it seems to be a good deal for those who only want to or can only EDC one light.

Thanks for everyone's help. I started to order the Fenix but brightguy was sold out so I placed an order for the AAA-P. I've been very happy with my AAA for the last 4 years so this can only be an improvement. The long runtime was a deciding factor, as was the USA-made and great CS.

The real issue is what will happen to my old AAA. The wife and daughter are about to come to blows!

I also feel that the Arc has better build quality & finish,as well as wear resistance. I have 2 Arc-P's, and the Fenix LOP-SE. The Fenix is brighter, and has 3 stages. BUT, my Arc-P is still on my key chain. Both are great lights.

I have the new Arc AAA P and an older Fenix single stage L1P, I carry the Fenix everywhere and am impressed with the brightness, I live in the country and there are no street lights near so when it's dark, it's dark but the Fenix lights the way 150-200 feet from my backdoor.

The fenix is a little big for keyring carry unlike in the case of my Arc AAA which hangs of my neckchain with a necklace clasp,(for easy removal) this is always available but doesn't throw the beam as far as the Fenix.

If ya don't mind the size or extra weight and brightness and throw are your main concern go with the Fenix, although if all ya nee is a good flood to light the general area 25 feet around ya then go with the Arc AAA it's made better and has a better run time.

Hope that helps some.
