Can you get great value in an American made product? You bet. I was pretty impressed with the small shipment of plain edge Arc Lites which arrived from Camillus today. It has a super sleek Darrel Ralph design with a skeletonized handle and a Kydex (I Think) neck sheath all for a price that was about half of what I would have guessed if you'd showed me the knife without telling me the price. I think Camillus may have another winner. If you want one we've commerce enabled it and the revised catalog page with image will upload sometime later this evening after the Major internet traffic has subsided. We can start shipping them tommorrow. Sorry for the commercial but I thought you'd want to know they are available. I assume the combo edge versions will follow soon. Nice work, Camillus.

Oh, here's a quick image made with the digicam:

Fred,
Glad you got them! We are very excited about this new knife from DDR. I believe that its gonna be a winner. We have been testing prototypes for months, and they have performed wonderfully. Even my Dad, who isn't a neck knife fan, is in love with it!

Have a happy ArcLite Holiday

I've got to chime in here. Historically, I haven't been a real big fan of neck knives either, but I really liked the looks of the ArcLite. So I ordered one up, and I must say, I'm very impressed. 25 bucks doesn't go very far usually in the knife "aquisition" game, but this is a total standout. Great design -kudos to Mr. Ralph, of course- and double kudos to Camillus for bringing this piece to production.

I don't recall what the steel is, and I'm not sure I want to know!

Mine was fairly sharp out of the box, but a few passes on the Sharpmaker made it a shaver. The only thing I don't care for is the way the sheath scratches the heck out of the blade. I wish it didn't, but hey it's a $25 knife, right?

I'll just need another one to keep scratch-free...
