Arc lock failed on me

My SOG X ray just crapped out on me. I was gonna use to to cut some cord (lanyards...) and I notice how loose the blade was and took a closer look. There was a lot of front and back play. I decide to take a look. I use a flat screwdriver to take out the nub, and noticed that one of the springs has no springiness. I think it broke in half. What should I do? Does SOG send replacements? Also, the other spring withdrew into the knife. Do I have to dismantle the knife completely? Thanks.

EDIT: Took it apart. Yeah, one of the springs broke in half. What should I do?

This happens occasionally.......hardly ever though.

SOG will take care of this I'm sure.

Just contact warranty and tell them what happened.

warranty@sogknives.com

I'm not sure if they send out springs or not.........you could ask.

Yeah, I emailed them already. Can they just give me the spring, so I can do it myself? Shipping isn't really that convenient for me.

EDIT: Got the reply. Gonna get that spring in 10 days. Awesome.

Reflecting on when the spring broke. There are a lot of guys that say they wouldn't depend on a knife that relies on a spring. This knife might rely on merely one spring, but it has two, so I guess it'll only fail fail if you're really unlucky.

I have used a Night Vision arc lock for 4 years and opened thousands of times with no broken springs.......yet.

You know how it goes.........you never know.:D

Don't forget to use a little loc tite when you go back with the arc knobs or they couild possibly work loose.

This is a problem you just don't hear of often with the SOG arc lock.

Guess I'm really unlucky, lol.

I'm still carrying it though. It's the only knife I have with a tanto blade, so...Yeah.
