Arc Lock Pentagon Elite questions

Hi guys,
I'm interested in the 4" PE but wasn't keen on a liner lock. Now that the Arc Lock is here (or coming for the PE) it's piques my interest again...

1. Will the clip be coming out in black? I find shiny clips attract unwanted attention..

2. Are the liners on the new PE nested / visible from a "top" view? Shiny liners also attract attention!!

Hi Daniel,

The new PE1 (ArcLock version) is here and now shipping from SOG! To answer your questions:

1) The clip is beadblasted for a matte, non-reflective finish and to match the blade coloring. I do not believe we will be converting it (or making it available) to black.

2) The liners are not visible from the outside the knife. They are inside the handles and recessed.

To add another question, I found that the clip on the first PE is actually rather fragile. My PE wouild be one of my favorite carries if not for the weak clip. I own a rather small car, when getting into it my knife(clipped on my pocket) will get caught on the steering wheel and bend the clip. Will the next clip be stronger or reinforced somehow?

Hi Darknight,

I was wondering if you had some experience with the PE's clip. All clips will occasionally bend or break (including this one), but our experience with this clip has been outstanding and the force needed to break it is extreme. The clip is very resiliant, springy, and strong. It will flex with firm tension and immediately return to normal. Of course, if it does become one of the very few to bend or break, SOG's warranty is outstanding!
