Hello, I know Arc AAA's will be made again but is there discussion of Arc LS re-make too? What is the "going rate" for Arc LS's today (good used condition of course).
Thank you
Martin

I'm a little fuzzy on model names, but the simple one watt, voltage converter twist to turn on model, I wouldn't bother buying one.

If you mean the micro processor controlled click to turn on change the menus one, I think it was $160 for a first. I don't know what the market rate is, but I'd guess somewhere around $60 to $80.

IMO one is better served by a Surefile L4, but that can be argued based on needs.

Arc LS is great, but it's probably obsolete in terms of other current lights that are as bright if not brighter. I got a few LS's for a song and a dance (DaveH is thinking of the Arc4 with the programmable one), and I love them. I have clickies, twisties and 2AA packs for them. For something that is like 2" long it puts out a lot of light, in my opinion. But, they are probably priced as collector's items these days, so you could get a brighter light for less money. Heck, even the new AAA is supposed to be twice as bright as the old one! I love my LS's, but the only reason to get one, honestly, would be to have an LS, if that makes sense.

OK I think I understand, if they are 'collectible" then probably they are too expensive, I was wondering if they could be gotten cheaper then the newer 123 x1 lithium cell lights. Among new ones is the HDS EDC lights reguarded as the "best" ?? Thank you,
Martin

I agree with the above posts, I am a fairly heavy flashlight user due to work, aging eyes, etc. But no flashoholic here. The Arc LS lights that I own are wonderful lights at there original purchase price of $50.00 each. Not selling a one! :) There are so many Luxeon lights now it's amazing. Have a SureFire A2(non-luxeon) off of a trade, that is my EDC. There are many choices. I have seen the 2-stage SureFire L1 that I really found impressive. The SureFire L4 is virtually a one hour streetlight in your pocket. :D BIG wall of light.

i was thinking of getting an LS a while back, never did all i found were just flat too expensive imho, better stuff around now for the same or less $$.

I guess it depends on who you find selling the lights. Some people will try to gouge you pretty hard, others want to unload stuff for a good price that they aren't using anymore. There is also a difference between all the different versions, as well as Premium, Standard and seconds. All different prices and quality. I suspect we'll see a bunch of old AAA's fora really good price very soon, though! :D
