Archived the Blade Discussion Forum

I just archived the General Discussion Forum because it grew to the size that was bogging down the server. I'll move some of today's threads over to this new forum as soon as I have some time available, right now I need to do some checking on the server.

Spark, this completely destroys any continuity the discussions may have had... Couldn't you just prune the forum by archiving threads that haven't had activity in say a month or so? Taking everything out just cuts every discussion off completely.

Yeah, well, everything we say we generally get around to saying again anyway! And archiving the forum like this gets us out of our ruts for awhile while we start up the new discussions.

What we should also be careful of is starting too many discussions here that belong in other forums from the start. This place does crowd up fast. The more old threads Spark moves back in here, the sooner he'll have to archive again.

Pruning is not our way - we'd rather have the stuff sitting there for people to refer to, than to delete it, never to be seen again.

If I have time, I'll move the more recent threads over from the archive, but I can't make any promises.
