Goodness knows there's all manner of tools with odd edge shapes or that have very limited access to them for sharpening. Hook knives, gouges, serrated knives, and so on all pose challenges that usually leave people resorting to wrapping sandpaper around a piece of wood just to get their abrasive to fit the contours, and while that technically works, it poses its own challenges and annoyances. I had some little hand-finished oval stones done up in my Arctic Fox formulation to help make those odd jobs a little less unpleasant.

You know I like the Artic Fox formulation but the price is simply not competitive. Boride Engineered Abrasives charges only $18.51 for an entire set (F180, F220, F320, F400, F600) of 1/4" * 1/2" * 6" OrangeEDM stones (item number 028938) which I can easily radius myself using a cheap diamond plate.

By all means buy the Boride stones if you like how they work and don't mind shaping them yourself. These cost what they do because of the hand finishing required and their formulation. :)
