I was playing with my new baby (LCC) and noticed there is a number in front of the MT logo. Not the date to the rear. It's like 1000 something, I don't know the exact number and it's upstairs sleeping right now after it had its tough cloth bath, so I don't want to wake it. Are all of them numbered, or if not, how many are? Any info would be appreciated. And by the way, no, I'm not crazy. I just love my LCC.

I think they are all numbered its the serial number. I think all microtechs have serial number. And no your not crazy I've been sittin here typing replies one handed cause I can't ever seem to put my LCC down. At least you let yours take a nap.

I was wondering the same thing,

No one gives more money to Tony Marfione than I do. Some of my MT's have numbers, some do not, even those with the same month/year date. At first I thought it was a nod to the government due to the autos, now I'm not sure. I just bought a dusty, 3 year old Tanto SOCOM M/A that Josh had lost under a pile of dirty magazines. It has a number, and it says M/A right on the blade. Since all of the knives we love to carry have micro-chips imbedded in the handles so Janet Reno can find them, it seems like a lot of duplicate effort...--OKG

My Lg. BB M/A LCC has #0529 on the blade.

My M/A stone washed SOCOM Elite has #1174 on the blade.

And, my CrTitanium coated M/A Tanto SOCOM has no serial number on it.

I guess some do and some don't...go figure.

Microtech began numbering all production knives a couple of years ago as a tracking method. Most short runs where at least 100 knives were made have numbers but some short runs of like 10 do not.

My LCC has a #1168 on it. It's an "Ong"(It means lucky in 'hokkien' dialect) number. Yup, it's sitting in my drawer asleep as well. Though it does not have scars or scratches to "record" good old times or memories....funny, as i seem to recall having a blast cleaning it and admire it's shinny blade instead of a tired one. Besides, it's worth more that way
