Are all Nyala's not so pointy?

I've seen a couple pics of the Nyala where it's very pointy, and I've seen some not very pointy, almost rounded. I handled 5 today, they were almost all rounded. I bought one that was decently pointy, but not like a Sebenza. Is there a reason?

Other than camera angles giving different views, I'm not sure what you mean by 'pointy' versus 'not pointy'. I have a Nyala and find that the blade geometry makes it suitable for myriad uses. Overall I believe it was designed as a hunter/utility piece which probably accounts for the slightly upswept blade-tip.

I mean having a needle-sharp point, very triangular, as opposed to like a pen. Sebenzas are very pointy, a Spyderco Military I would say is insanely pointy.

So no thoughts on this? There's a new thread in here about the Nyala and someone even says "tapers to a fine point" not mine so much. Should I just contact CRK?

Mine (which is just sold) was indeed a bit rounded but still very sharp. I never did any puncture tests but I have no doubt that tip would have no trouble punching through anything.

Don't mistake strength for "rounded."

With a wide blade profile like that you aren't going to get a particularly sharp point.

I disagree. I've seen sharper points on many a Bob Dozier or similar skinning kives w/ wider blades.

Glad someone else is noticing this! It's not a huge deal, just a peeve of mine.
