Heritage series, 1095 steel
This was a late made knife, and not 420HC
neither was this 420HC
this was advertised as 440C, but, not marked or cataloged, so it could be.
you can't see it in this picture, but the spear point blade is marked ATS 34
I am going to say there is absolutely no consistency in the steels of late Schatt & Morgan knives, unless the blade is marked, and, not all were! The only carbon steels I saw being offered were 1095, so if the blade rusts, you have a 1095 knife! Other than that, you will have to find an advertizement before those disappear. There were more uncataloged Schatt & Morgans than cataloged. As you can see, 1 of 30, 1 of 200, these short runs were common. I only know what I purchased before the company went bust.
