Are all the Wal-Mart Bucks made in China?

I picked up this stockman Cadet wood handle on clearance for $15. a month ago and the blade says China. I called Buck in Calif and they said they have to outsource the Buck knifes to compete at Wallyworld prices. This really surprised me because I thought Buck was all about being mnade in the U.S.A.

This Cadet is actually very well made. It walks and talks real nice and the blades have a mirror polish. The hardness must be good because it was difficult to sharpen. So I am not dissapointed with the quality of this particular knife.

Now my question is about the Buck 110. that is packaged for $23.00 for Christmas sales. Is it also made in China? If so has anyone found that there is a difference the USA made 110's Or are they all made in China now?

Sorry about the newb questions but I searched the posts and I can't see where anyone mentions that the Buck 110's at Wal-Mart are made in China.

The 303 (American Made) is called the "Cadet", I believe the 373 (Chinese made) is called the "Trio".

The wood-scale slipjoints at Wal Mart are made in China, but the 110, 119, Nighthawk, Mayo Hilo, Rush etc... are all the real Made In The USA Bucks, not Wal Mart versions.

I have the Chinese-made Buck 371 Stockman from Wal Mart and the quality is very nice. I'd much rather have it than the American-made plastic-scale Buck Stockman.

Clarification:

Colubrid: That is an early label. The box you have pictured is for a Chinese made knife that was later named Trio, model #373. This was to differentiate the Chinese import from the USA made Cadet. It is unfortunate that Buck delayed the re-naming of the imported models. By the way, the earliest Chinese made pocketknives did not have handle rivets while later models do have them.

Hair: The Mayo Hilo, model 179 is made in China.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for clearing that up Larry. Do you have any info' on why several 373's have shown up in Wal-marts lately and the display says "440C", but the blister packaging says "420" for the blade steel. Awhile back, C'J. Buck posted on here that the Chinese made 370's are 440C, just curious if they have changed steel or is this another packaging mix-up?
