Are any of these balisongs desirable?

I' m a dealer in Alaska and have had several cleints ask about different styles of balisongs. They aren't interested in the cheap China knives. I've found several nice looking designs from other countries but most have brass pins and I'm concerned about durability. Some savvy feedback on these knives would be appreciated. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=306482&a=11642158

Chuck,

sorry .. English isn't my mother tongue ... do you mind elaborating "..prudent.sorry" ?

thanks

Sorry.

It's a quote from George H. W. Bush Sr. (our former president and the father of our current president, George W. Bush Jr., also known as W or W!) who used to say, "Wouldn't be prudent," quite a bit.

According to Webster's Dictionary: Prudent, Judicious or cautious in managing practical affairs...

Basically, "Wouldn't be prudent" means, "not a good idea."

Both George H. W. Bush Sr. and expecially his wife, Barbara Bush (also known as "Bar"), are well known for strictly following the old saying, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." "Wouldn't be prudent" is George's way of saying "That's really a stupid, f***ed up idea," without being quite so negative.

So, without being critical or negative, I'm really saying that I think these knives aren't that great.

I recognize Spanish knives (Andujar...).
These knives are common in Europe (I'm sure for Spain & France, and think they're also distributed in most the other countries of the EC).

I think they're OK. It's a better than Rostfrei type 100% Taiwanese cheapies (even if some of those knives must be made in Taiwan too)... it can be a good start for a bali.

According to the American Heritage dictionary prudent means "Wise in handling practical matters; exercising good judgment or common sense

Of course I suppose it depends on what side of the track you live on. In High School, they use to call a girl who wanted to remain a virgin a "prude". Even today, young people who want to remain pure and undefiled come under a lot of attack for being prudent.

In the context of what we are using it here though, it means making a right decision based on good common sense. Common sense is a way of thinking that any common working man would agree with. To be practical.

Semantics aside, I have to agree with Chuck on this one. I've had one of each of most of these - and they are basically POS.

IMHO - charming china cheapies (love that phrase Chuck) are better - or at least a better value for the money you spend.

A few months ago a guy came on here and said that Herbertz made different classes of balis and that the more expensive ones were quite good. Unfortunately, when we asked him for more info he sorta disappeared. I sure wish we could find out if there's any truth to the statement.
