Are Boker knives any good???

When it comes to Boker, quality is very knife specific. They make (or have made) knives all over the world.

Which type/model are you considering?

Thinking of the 7101, has to be a blade of less than 3'' to be legal in the UK!
What do you think? Any good????..........

i've bought boker in the past and had good luck. on the traditional forum there is a post about the boker sodbuster and the writer seems pretty happy with it. it was made in argentina. later, ahgar

Böker has been hit and miss for me. Their fixed blades seem to be more reliable than their folders. So far their only folder I really liked was a stag handled slip joint.

The comments on "hit and miss" and "quality is knife specific" are dead on. I've seen great variety in the construction quality and design of their knives. Don't buy Boker w/o examining the blade before purchase, unless the price is low enough you don't really care.

Many thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond to my question. No longer too convinced on the Boker front so what to go for?
I've got about £100 ($200) to spend on a good all rounder. But what to go for???
Any suggestions?...........

Been lookin on e-bay again how about the Kershaw chive lock knife???
Any thoughts?

$200 - that opens up the available knives.

The Chive I carried was fine for small stuff, due to size, but I think they have changed the steel since then. A nice and nifty, stylized knife, though.

But you could move up. Spyderco, Benchmade, et al, even higher end Kershaws. You get the better materials and finish, that way.

Pounds - U.K. then? How about the UK Pen Knife from Spyderco. Designed to be legal to carry over there.

Very good advice. I don't think there is a better nonlocking EDC out there.

The only problems I've ever had with Boker are their liner locks, even then, some are better than others.
Their slipjoints and lockbacks are excellent!

Hi folks, anyone know anything about Boker folding lock knives.....?
I personally have never ran across a good one. Something wrong with everyone I have owned. From small stamping flaws to large "too thin of a liner lock" woes. :thumbdn:
