I know this sounds like a newb question, but I haven't paid much attention to them since the first fixed blades.
I want to try one out, maybe just a catch and release on a less expensive second hand purchase.
But I just want to know what their deal is.
I hear them compared to CRKs but not as refined fit and finish, and more "rugged" looking.
But CRKs aren't considered custom.
I know very little about the folders, but with the over inflated prices many seem to mention, is this due to them in fact being hand made customs?
Even the small ones (PT) are over 300 retail.
I don't expect Strider to be the only worker in the shop to be called a truly custom maker, but I want to know the level of his operation.
They seem to make so many different folders, like a bigger operation.
So is he more like CRK and using CNC machinery but some hand finishing like blade grinds?
Or more like Emerson with a full production line and a separate custom line? if so how do you differentiate, by the model name?
Any info would be helpful.
thanks guys.
