are condoms in your kit?

I too keep one stashed in the bottom of my pack for cougar attacks.

They're also useful if you're hunting in the rain with a smoke pole and don't want water in your powder. Kind of hard to explain when you get back to camp though. ;)

Just be sure to use the regular and not the pre-lubed ones for liquid storage :D.

If my wife found condoms in one of my bags I would get to use my woods survival skills that night

:D cougar = hot older lady

I carry one when in the southwest. There is some skill involved filling one in the field and should be practiced. Also plan on having a bandana or sock for carry.

I carry a few in my kit.One even came in handy once.;)

I used it to repair a cracked air filter hose on my 4 wheeler.

Yes. But when my wife found them one day I had a heck of time trying to explain their real purpose. Luckily, I had one of my "survival" books handy and showed it to her. It certainly raised her eyebrow, but she never doubted me. (P.S. I've never pulled a Bill Clinton and never will)

Damn straight, a year before I married my wife she found a condom way in the bottom of my glove box. Tears and hours of reassuring, if the date on the thing was not expired I might still be single!!!!!

I prefer ziplocs or a sturdy oven bag for emergency water storage

that utube link is so FUNNY, the wife bookmarked and will be shown to her law firm. (lots of cougars working there)

I have never liked condoms as a water carry method. Fortunately, there are several superior options these days, including oven and milk bags, as well as purpose built emergency water bags.

Water Bags Bothe the Aqua Pouch and the Emergency 1Qt Water Bags are handy, depending on the size of the kit you are putting together.

When I used to rifle hunt regularly, I used "finger cots" to keep rain out of my barrel. They are like latex gloves, but just for a single finger. (Never mind their intended use! ) A box of a hundred cost me a buck or two. They fit much better, than a condom or balloon.

i knew the youngsters would question cougar attacks,

To set the record straight I just turned 37. I have been attacked by a few. Just didn't put 2 and 2 together. Definitely a good idea to have condoms on hand if your just gonna allow yourself to be mauled :D. Maybe I should have said "I didn't put 42 and 42 together". :p -DT

one came without lube of course in my survival tin i bought a few years ago. i think its in the army or marine mtn survival tins..
