Looking at getting my first CRK folder, haven't decided which yet. Don't have a local store and I have never held one plus I am just wanting to get a user. I'm out of the buy knives and let them sit in there box game. Wondering if you can flick open these knives with the thumb or reverse flick them open with middle finger? Seems like when I always see them for sale in the classifieds here I haven't ever noticed anyone posting a video of them being flicked open? Not that it really matters to me but just wondering.

Thanks

The company advises people not do to that as it causes excess wear on the lock. That being said yes you can flick them. I never open my CRKs like this as I like the slow rolling style of opening but thats besides the point.

The 31s in my experience are a little stiff and would be more difficult to flick the Inkosi or a 21 could easily be flicked.

You can flick them but I would never recommend it.
The only knives I feel comfortable flicking are my Gorgon, my Satus and my Chaves.

Both the Umnumzaan and Inkosi can be flicked open with the adjustable pivot. A broken in zaan is a smooth an almost silent flick. I almost never do but….

Only quiet if you run the rubber washers on the thumb stud. I removed mine as soon as it arrived. I like the sound it makes opening or closing.

The warning against flicking a CRK was towards the Sebenza 21 - I believe; not sure if it applies to the rest (the new hardened stop pin). I have done it sure, 21, Inkosi and Umnumzaan; but it falls into the "could by why" category for me. My Inkosis I can actually reverse flick; the others don't leave my sausage fingers enough room to access the studs.

If you manage to flick one open, you'll immediately perceive that it was not built with fast deployment in mind. For me it would be like driving to work in second gear. I could do it , but why?

The straight answer is that some crk knives can break in and flip, but not all.

As someone said above, the warning against flicking applied to the 21 because of the titanium lock face and the mild steel stop pin. Those design elements have changed with the 31.
