I was wondering if double-edged knives such as the SOG Daggert 1 (and 2) were illegal to carry in Ohio? If not, how would a person carry it - meaning, can it be concealed?

Thanks,
Cleary

Don't take my word on this, but I think that you cannot carry it concealed legally. Also, I don't think double edged knives are illegal, but they are more likely to be construed as weapons if the sh!t hits the fan.

From what I can tell of Ohio's laws (specificially firearms, but in general, all "deadly weapons"), you can carry your Desert Dagger openly, but not concealed. I can't find anything that would suggest that having a CCW would allow you to conceal anything other than a handgun (in fact, it's called a "Licence to Carry a Concealed Handgun).

So "Yay" or "Nay" on the concealed carry of the double-edged like the Desert Dagger or any boot knife for that matter?

Thanks,
Cleary

"yay" for "not" concealed. "nay" for concealed. Pretty much... If you're consdering a boot knife, get a different type of sheath. If the handle is not visible, you're shit hitting the fan is now in effect. Double bladed is legal, but um... you'd be screwed if you got caught with a knife that resembled a combat knife. Might you... send a pic? :)
