mmmmmmmmm, bacon-wrapped wagyu.

I've only ever had Kobe/Wagyu over in Japan, and it was the most mouth wateringly delicious beef I've ever eaten. Bacon wrapped sounds fantastic...

I always knew kobe beef was expensive, but holy crap! all the prices on that site are crazy!

I think those prices are about 2X the going rate for Wagyu, because Lobel's dry ages theirs or something to that effect, and they're in NYC...

I had a 200 dollar piece of wagyu on my birthday last year, it was worth every penny, because I didn't pay for it.

Honestly though, amazing. But if i'm buying, i'm sticking with my rib eyes, and filet mignon.

I agree... I wonder what the average $/pound of finished INFI (complete knives) has been for the last few years? It would make for an interesting graph, INFI vs Wagyu by $/pound over, say, the last five years. ;) maybe I'll make one (such a graph...).

Once you figure in how much longer INFI lasts, it starts looking pretty cheap.

I have had Kobe a few times and any time I have a chance I order it. It's worth every penny.

Ergos rock.

I'm going to +1 that, I think the future INFI machete should incorporate an Ergo curved handle of some kind.

It's not really THAT expensive if you buy it from Busse. ;) :D

There in lies the chalenge. I was so bumbed out when i got home and found all the Punmpkin SAR8's sold out, and I was only 30 minutes late getting home, I turned around and ordered two new Randall's out of Florida to assuage my pain and sense of loss at having missed out. I am however mystified and happy that the normal batch of "buyers" backed off the DC's :D

Keep in mind that there's real Kobe out there and Kobe Style. Kobe Style is nowhere near the real thing and generally from Colorado. Many restaurants conveniently forget the word "style" on the menu. Make sure you specifically ask before spending the $$$$.

Or you could just go for a delicious Meatloaf baby swaddled in Bacon Diapers:
