Are lanyard holes getting bigger ?

I've been carrying my recently acquired Manix 2 Lightweight for awhile now , but just noticed that the lanyard hole looks bigger than what I'm used to .

I would have noticed sooner if I'd installed a lanyard , but haven't felt the need for this folder .

Not a problem for me , just curious as to why .

It would make it easier to use thicker paracord or whatever .

Or...is it just the innate/inborn love of round holes that goes with Spyderco ?

The Manix has a larger opening hole and lanyard hole than some others.

That is to confuse your opponent should he take your knife, making it harder for him to figure out which end to open
