Are patterns like Schrade LB7, Buck 110 and the Gerber Black Gulch considered Traditional.

The Buck came out in '64 and I believe the LB7 came out around the same time and I'm sure many other companies came out with very similar patterns around then too.

The reason I ask is because I have some of those patterns and some Gerber Silver Knights that I'd love to post here but I'm not sure if I'd violate any forum rules here.

I personaly believe they should be included because of their age as Traditional Lockbacks but I'm only a minority here.

If this is to be kept a Traditionals, (Slipjoint only) forum than I agree but how would that apply to Leafspring locks and button locks like on some Schrade autos, (I could be wrong as I've only ever held a few in my hands), Opinels or Swiss Barrel knives, (maybe they're not included as they are not Traditional American patterns.

Which confuses me even more because don't a lot of Traditional patterns have their roots in the old European patterns.

I gotta stop thinkin' so much, my head hurts.;)

Ted, if you'd take a moment to use search in this forum you'll see that there have been several threads here on the Buck 110 (and derivatives).

Lockbacks (of the "traditional" kind) are also listed in the forum description:

Traditional Folders and Fixed Blades: Discussion of classic Hunters, Trappers, Lockbacks, Slipjoints, Skinners and other classic designs

Opinels, Laguioles, Scandinavian knives and many other traditionals are discussed here regularly.

(Please contact either Gus or me in the future if you have any questions so we can resolve them before starting a thread to discuss forum guidelines.)
