Are Manufacturer-listed Knife Weights an Absolute or Just a Range? Pics

I've bought a couple of knives on eBay recently and noticed that the weights don't quite match the amounts the manufacturer listed. My ZT Hinderer, for instance was listed at 5.8 oz. but mine weighs 6 oz. Also, my Ontario XM-1 weighs 6.4 oz. and its listed weigh is 6.3 oz. The latter is pretty close but I'm kinda concerned about the former. Here's the pic below. Notice the space in ELMAX. That's another thing that's somewhat worrisome. But I don't want to send this back on an uneducated hunch. Please let me know if you suspect it's a fake because I still have time to return it. Thanks in advance for any service you can render.

"El Max" - it's Spanish for "the max"!

But seriously, don't know what to tell ya. You might've been had....

I think some models were put out with that space. Im almost positive I've read that on here, but don't take my word on it. Just wait for someone a little more familiar with this and it will hopefully get sorted out

The serial number and steel type printing look a little different than any others I've seen.

That said, I have a 561 and there is nothing in the pictures that indicate it might be a fake. I wouldn't worry about the weight difference at all either.

I believe you have a real 560. Enjoy it, they are great knives.

I would not imagine when talking about a 10th of an ounce is a huge deal breaker. Blade lengths are the same way. Do you measure from the tip to the pivot hole? End of the bolster or handle? Cutting edge? Maybe where the lock bar starts or engages? Hard to say.

The "El Max" spelling was discussed a while back. It's legitimate.
