Are Non-flippers not being made anymore?

Hey guys and gals. Just had a quick question. I heard that Hinderer will no longer be making anymore new non-flippers. Is that true? I love the XM-18 platform but I am just not a flipper guy. I cannot make myself like them. Man it is such a tease to have such a beautfiul knife like the XM-18 being produced for non-flipper fans like myself.

I'm in the same boat. I've got one non flipper and three flippers. Typically I use the thumb studs on the flippers. The up side to the flipper is that they are a almost guarantee your index finger won't slip onto the blade.

I'm in the same boat as you bro. My first XM was a non flipper and I've had it ever since. Carried more than all my other knives put together, it still looks almost as good as the day I got it. Awesome knives built like tanks. Too bad they aren't making them anymore but it just makes mine all the more special to me.

It would be nice if you could use the thumb studs or the flipper, the thumb studs are basically just a stop pin, but why can the knife be designed to work with either?

One can use either thumbstuds or the flipper on the flipper XMs to open the blade.

Again, Rob answered the question.

I have a flipper, but usually I just use the thumbstud to open mine.

With the stronger detent, you are going to need the flipper to get them open, using the thumb studs to open is more difficult.

I too like the non-flipper, particularly in the 3", my daily carry for a couple years was a non-flipper but I have recently switched to a 3" with a flipper and I really can't discern much difference in carrying it and I like the flipper being there for protection and deployment option.

I have a 3 inch and a 3.5 inch. Both flippers. I like the way the flipper locks your grip in but I also like to use the thumb studs I mean stop pins--it gives me the option. Hinderer flippers are GREAT!

This right here is a great reason to use flippers, even if you only open them with the thumbstuds.

I find that flippers are easier to open, especially with gloves on. The thumbstud feels wrong somehow.
