Are Non-Metalic Knives Legal in California?

Lately, I've heard alot of rumors and hearsay that non-metalic edged tools or weapons are not legal in California as of 1/1/00. Some people have told me that even the self-defense security brushes and combs from United Cutlery are illegal in California because they are considered to be a concealed weapon. I've tried unsuccessfully to find a section of law which would prohibit non-metalic knives such as Cold Steel's Zytel/Glass Filled Nylon Resin Delta Dart, Mission Knives Counter Terrorism Models which are made of G10 and Strider Knives Carbon Fiber Knives to name a few. SB23 which deals with firearms and other weapons did not specifically address "Non Metalic's". I would appreciate any info on the subject.

Here's a link to the bill, as passed and signed and entered into the CA Penal Code:

AB 1188

If you don't like it now, you would have really hated it the way it was when first introduced. I was one of the people who helped get it "moderated."

And, as written, it won't have any effect on the next nut who decides to take on the bailiffs with a sharp piece of wood or plastic.

If my reading on that bill is correct, possession is not a crime.

What's being addressed appears to be to stop the manufacture and the sale or importation of "undetectable" knives (in Calif).

But I don't see any mention in the code about possession, so if you already have one and aren't going to sell it, it should be hunky-dory, right? Restrictions should then fall under what's already covered for metallic knives, I'd think.
