Got two of the Sage II's as soon as they were released and was hoping for numbered ones. Wondering if only the Golden, CO knives come out numbered for the first hundred or so?

The simple answer to your question is no.

All variants will have a 200 piece collectors club run. You have to be in the club to get a numbered knife, or buy one from a collector.

As with many things Spyderco, the general answer would be "it depends". In the specific case of the Sage II only the pieces going to "all variant" members of the Collectors Club would be numbered. So, as a result, there are probably only perhaps 50 or 60 numbered knives with numbers scattered in the 000V to 200V range. For new models, like the original CF Walker lock Sage, there would be considerably more, but again numbered in the 000 to 200 range since. in addition to the "all variant" members, the "base model only" members in the club, of whom there are more, receive these. Then there's the new twist Spyderco has added recently, Pilot Runs. These are roughly 50 piece batches of knives which are both new models and made in Golden and, IIRC, are all numbered "Pilot Run 1 of 50". Never know what tomorrow might bring.

Where older models are concerned, things are different. At one time the entire first batch of collaboration models was numbered. There have been individually "non Collectors Club" numbered pieces of some "special" models, like the WTC knife and 25th Anniversary Delica, and at least a couple nnn of NNN numbered ones where nnn represents an unique number and NNN the run size. The Evolution Set and 20th Anniversary Worker would fall into that category. There have also been "commissioned" knives which were serially numbered. Some versions of the Q, like the Blade Magazine version, would fall into that category. I suspect that could still happen again in the future. Am fairly sure, for example, that if Moteng had been willing to pay for it, Spyderco would have numbered the foliage green Lums for them.
