I mean specifically his Lake/Chen corrobaration, and his Hanwei forge Folder that captures the Cantonese Era and Quadong, and was in January's Blade magazine. Are these pieces CUSTOM knives or Production using cheap labor?
I am in the process of trying to find a knife for my 15 year old Son's karate Instructor. My son started with thios Man's Dojo at age five and this man has been a super-teacher. he is really into Katana's and I have already done that a few times during Christmas. Paul makes a "paddle blade[?]" folder which mimics Cantonese styling BUT I cannot determine whether it is a Big dollar item or a Cas Iberia production...Thanks.....wolf

Just my opinion here, but I would not consider it a custom more like a maker/factory collaboration not to say it will not be a good knife, but it better be a heck of a lot better than the "Citizen".

Hello

I have tried to answer your e-mail but it keeps bouncing. Anyway, I couldn't go too far as I have little experience with this makers' products specially the folders. I have only seen one so far, the Starship, and it did not look bad at first but I have not had the time to look at it in depth to give you a complete analysis.

I had an opportunity to handle a "period piece" that His "Hanwei Forge" produced. It has a "paddle-like blade" [only way I can describe it] and is a folder from the Cantonese or "Quadong".
While I question it's "durability" it sure appears to be a very well made "replica".
The Lake/Chen Corraboration is also a nice knife, but NO WHERE near the $400.00 sticker price. But again, it looks like alot of "hand-work" went into the knife. CAS Iberia, what is their History?? Custom or PRODUCTION?.......Thanks.......wolf

CAS-Iberia is a production knife company. They make some neat knives and some not so neat knives.IMO

What a swing!!! From a nice knife to a POS. How does it end up this way?
I handle some knives from CAS Iberia and find a few that appear to border on 'hand-made quality' and then handle a few more that are a WASTE of CHEAP Steel, and clearly cheap foreign Labor.
There has GOT to be something wrong when a production Knife company turns out some nice products, then muddies the water with GARBAGE. What is CAS Iberia's [History]?.........Thanks.....wolf
