Ebay never ceases to amaze me. Some knives sell so cheap, and some not so much. An Alaskan guide 110 just sold for 134.00 plus shipping. I paid 76.00 for mine, plus tax. I think regular price is around 95.00. Am I missing something?

Thanks, pete

There is always a way to separate a fool from his money. On ebay it's called capitalism, there are a bunch of online dealers who buy cheap and sell high. The best way for you to protect yourself is to be educated on current value's of the item you are interested in. Also, be educated on the item you want to buy and don't believe a darn thing the ebay seller tells you until you have researched and verified what they have told you.

Now that that was said, yes there were a few AG's that were very limited issues. There were a few issued with Ironwood scales and some with Sambar Stag scales. Those will bring a premium above the standard rosewood colored scales.

FYI
The forum rules state that only gold members and above can discuss knife price, so be careful on what you are asking about.

Thanks. This was laminated rosewood. I wasn't asking about price. I was asking about editions.

Looks like the seller offers worldwide shipping which opens the doors to a lot of people that can't get it from big box stores or certain online shops.

Funny world, I can't sell mine and it's beautiful.

Here is a little nugget. About 2 years ago I noticed the exact same thing you asked in the OP. I kept seeing the same seller posting an AG 110 above the MSRP of the originators store price? After seeing the same thing get relisted over and over for a few months I contacted the seller. I let him know that this item may sell better if he checked the price at the originators store and lower his price a bit. He graciously responded to me thanking me for telling him the obvious as he was buying his product from the originators store and reselling it. Then he said for me to go to his feedback and take a look at it. I found that he had been selling between 2 to 4 a month at the inflated price for over six month's. I went back and thanked that guy for a valuable lesson on capitalism and great marketing.

If they had Buck make a 112 model simular to the 110 I bet lots of people who like the look will gladly pay the price to have one. It makes a nice subset to any collection. As far as I know there was at least 6 different models or more made in the Alaskan guide series. I always look at them on ebay simply because it is a great looking Buck! They always sells at a premium. Can anyone give a history when they first came out and a idea of how many were made in the different editions? I would not be surprised if some runs were much more limited than others because there are a few I hardly ever see for sale. .
