Please don't get me wrong as I own several Spyderco knives. It seems to me that they are just asking too much money nowdays for what you get. The one point in question among others is the Kiwi..way over priced IMO.

Not sure what you mean. I would still consider the E4/D4 and Salt series as one of the best deals on the market. If you mean the Kopa and Kiwi, those are more or less specialty items.

Well, the different inlays are usually limited or relatively low production runs. I am not talking about the SS Kiwi and the Kopa is only availble with relatively "fancy" inlays anyways.

I don't know, it depends on which one you mean. The all stainless one is readily available for more-or-less $50, which isn't too bad, really. Its got great steel, excellent ergonomics, and really isn't out of line for other small gent's knives in the same size range. The bone one seems a little out of line, but its somewhere around the same size/concept as the Lone Wolf City Knife, which goes for the same money. I mean, there are some BMs that I believe are in the same size and cheaper, but quite frankly most of them are- in a bit of irony since we're talking about Spyderco here- fugly.

Also, I think that their staple models (i.e. the Delicas and Enduras, etc.) represent a tremendous value. Its only (as has been said already) when you get to the specialty items that the price goes up a bit. Still, you DO get what you pay for, again as has already been said.

I see the Kiwi selling for about $95.00 and don't consider that to be overpriced.

The Kopa is a limited edition knife.

The Walmart Native 4 is one of the best deals out there, on a really solid, well built knife.

The CalyIII and Captain were more expensive than I thought they'd be, but the S30V Native and D`allara drop point are pretty fantastic deals. Seems like the high end is getting more expensive, the low end stays the same price but improves.

The Delica 4 and Endurs 4 are a great buy , with or without the wave . Some of the premium models are up there in price , but they are also up there in quality .

Overall good buys .

Chris
