are sword/kris illegal to import to U.s.?

In general sense, are swords not allowed to be imported to the U.s. ? let us say a long muslim kris from the philippines . wuld appreiacdte lettimg me know the current status of immport law on this subject. thanks.

i would think it would be OK. But maybe not. I am not a customs agent with an agenda...

I have a good friend who collects just such items. They are not illegal to import at all.

Sometime, a kris blade shows up on a balisong. That is illegal to import. But, the classic kris swords and daggers are not.

No. it's perfectly legal.

Just make sure your documentation is correct and that you are not trying to import prohibited materials (e.g. Ivory handles, etc.)
