As the title states, I'm wanting to know if the CF scale on my small Insingo is impervious to oils, blood and other liquids.

Just curious if it'll soak up rain or other stuff.

Thanks!

I'd be very surprised if it soaked up rain or "other stuff." I've had water, cleaners, lubricant, oil and mayonnaise on mine--no blood yet--and it just wipes off. I think by the time they glue several dozen layers of fiber together that slab is pretty impervious to anything, bullets excepted.

Carbon fiber is not going to give you any problems with things like water, oils or juices from fruits and animals. I suppose there will be chemicals out there that could cause problems but if it's destroying carbon fiber it won't be doing you much good either. :p

Thanks for the responses. That was kind of my thoughts I guess. Like if I drop it into a puddle or the sink, spill something on it lime pop maybe. Perhaps detergent or something. Just the usual stuff around the house.

Or when I cut myself playing with it. Anymore it's pretty much a given I'll cut myself I think.

I have a bunch of carbon fiber on one of my motorcycles and it does not soak up water at all. The resin keeps that from happening.

Be careful - make sure you can count to ten for a long time!
