Are the new EB's flat gound or chisel ground?

Does anyone have a good picture of both sides of the EB blade? The reason I ask is that in most pictures on the net, I can see the grind step on the left side of the blade in front of the choil. But all of the pictures of the right side of the blade don't appear to have the same step.

So, is it really flat ground or chisel ground? I guess this would apply to AR's and GB's as well.

What exactly is the difference between flat and chisel grinds? Could someone please post pics illustrating the difference?

The two are very similar in that the sides of the blade are flat from the spine to the edge. The only difference is both sides are ground on a flat grind, and only one side is ground on a chisel grind. I don't have a pic right here an now, but a chisel grind looks like the sharp end of a wood working chisel. Usually the left side of the blade is ground on an angle until it meets the right side which is unground. As for the cross section, Imagine a "V" that has been tilted so that one leg is vertical. The other side is you grind angle.

On the other hand, the flat grind looks like a "V" normally would. I think I made that harder than it needed to be.

Drjones, The first pic is flat ground and the second is a hollow grind. To my knowledge stider has not made any chisel ground blades for public consumption.Emerson is best known for his chisel grinds on his customs. Just imagine a retangular piece of steel and then you flat grind only 1 side until it meets the backside, that is a chisel grind, no grind on the backside just flat. If this does not make since then email me and i will email you some photos.
 
If you lay a straight edge across the grind bevel(paralell with the grindlines) a hollow grind will actually be lower in the middle. The flat grind is flat. The staight edge will make contact with the blade from the top of the grind to the edge on a flat grind. There will be a gap beneath the staight edge in the middle on a hollow grind.

if I am not mistaken (though I might well be :D), most of Strider's double edged blades are configured with a double chisel grind.

I think its on the Strider website, but I cannot seem to access it right now..

What you are speaking of is a double zero grind. JSP does these wonderfully but striders have a secondary bevel on them. It makes the edge stronger, if they took the flat grind all the way to the tip without the secondary bevel it would be brutally sharp but very fragile and would break under pressure easily.

The KH and PH are chisel grond but have a hollow grind on the back ( flat ) of the blade. These are daggers and are made for sentry removal.
 
Nope, my bad.. just checked out Strider's site, and I was wrong indeed.. :( Perhaps I should not mingle in dialogues between people who do know something about knives:) .
