Are the new thumb ramps in production yet?

I have a new Sebenza. How do the new ramps differ? My large Sebenza has fine notches and my small Sebneza has much coarser nothes. Are the coarser ones the new ramp?
 
yeah, from what ive seen the new ones are further apart and coarser. Since you have both to compare, do you like one better than another? P.s how long have you had the one with the new thumb ramp?
 
I got them both a few months ago. They were from different sources but were both born early 2004. The large Sebenza came through with the fine ramp and the small had the coarse ramp. I don't do any game skinning or very hard cutting, so they are both fine for me. But if I had hard cutting to do, the coarse ramp would give JUST A BIT more "purchase". I say just a bit because from a tactile sense, it's not like a night and day major difference. The difference is subtle. From a personal point of view, I like the new one better. And if you need that extra "grab", it's good to know it's there.
 
I have the new one, I like it more because it seems like it will have less "junk" collect between the little ramps.
 
Could someone post a pic of the ramps side by side so that the rest of us could have the benefit of a visual comparison? I know it would be appreciated by more than just myself. ;)
 
I am a new member and not allowed to post attachements. If someone emails me or gives me their email address, I will send them a side-by-side of the two ramps and they can post it.

Cause it's more "tactical". :D Just kidding around of course. Don't kill me Chris. I like them both. All my Sebbies have the older style, but I'm kind of liking the newer ramp as well. Maybe a reason to get another one. Yea, that's it, that's the ticket.

It seems like the new thumb ramps would be better suited for someone who was wearing gloves and using the knife.
 
So does this mean that from 2004 & on, the Large/Small Sebenza's will have the newer style thumb ramp?----If I am reading that right :confused:

I have a new Lrg Seb coming right from CRK's shop, around the first week of July & I really like the newer ramp. Just wondering if mine will come with the new version or not???

Should I call & ask them directly or can someone answer that question here?

It probably wouldn't hurt to call and ask the folks at CRK directly. Better to get it from the horse's mouth, so to speak. (No I'm not calling anyone at CRK a horse. Nor do I insinuate that someone in Idaho bares any resemblance to one. :D )
 
Cool, I certainly will call them up Monday to ask. I really hope it does have the newer design. The newer thumb ramp kinda looks like my MercWorx Lachesis' does. If so, then it will be perfect! :)
 
The newer thumb ramps are a nice look in my opinion, I just like the looks of the new ramps-it seems to fit the knifes "Spartan" lines..I do have an older unique graphic with the old thumb ramp though,and I like the looks of that on that particular knife-a little fancier looking-Tony :cool:
