I received some older stock RC knives and was wondering since the name has changed to Esee ,will the knives with the triangle/knife logo become more sought after as time goes on? Or,should I just beat the snot out of it as I do the rest of my Esee's ? :D:D Just wonderin"

there wont be much of a logo left on mine...use em and abuse em dude..they aint worth much lookin at unless the paint has wore off of em and the handle is dirty...a RAT or ESEE becomes a better knife with use.

No knife, IMO, should be a safe queen. To me, if I buy something, I intend on using it.

I'd be awfully surprised if any of these knives became "collectibles." They're users, pure and simple.

I can see them becoming collectibles ...why not once something becomes harder to come by and demand increases then the price will go up.

Keep it and buy one with an ESEE logo on to abuse!

Yeah I have a mint Camillus USAF survival I grabbed out of the cabinet at work when I heard they had gone under. Since there were only 30-40 million of those made it could be worth something in the next millennium.
I never considered my Rats to be Queens it seemed wrong to hide them in a safe.
If I had known though I might have put my Blackjack Mamba in storage before I beat it half to death.

I think for one, they'll be easier to sell and more sought after by 'collectors'.. I've thought the same thing myself but I collect other knives just for mere value, I think these knives just by the look of them are just screaming to be used. But again you could collect them and time will tell if they go up enough in value to make it worth while, maybe first production runs, and the 10,000th Izula maybe safe queens:D

The RC logo blades are users just as ESEE logo ones are
Thanks Tony. Just wondering if it will become a collectible.I will use it hard !

To tell the truth...it's my second 3. It'll be my EDC so it's gonna get a lot of use.
I do like 'em better when they're work-worn and the paints peeling and the handles are grungy.

I've had my RAT Izula for months and it's good as new. But in that time the only blades I've needed have been my little Kershaw Jim Officer slippie or my machete. At this stage of the game, if an Izula was the best tool for the job at hand, I'd get a new one. I have to think for some a mint RAT is a premium. FWIW IMO A new Izula looks as good as just about anyone's new knife.

I think the only knives that might not get used would be the 9999, 10000 and 10001 IZULA's...

These are definitely not knives that belong in a display box. In my opinion, if you feel the need to "preserve" or "protect" your knife constantly from scratches and aesthetic defects it really wasn't made to do any real work...

I'm glad the coating on my 4 and izzy are starting to show wear it just means they are good at what they do!

I think anything is collectable if it has value to you. As far as it being valuable, it's doubtful or limited at best. Many were produced, and while most are being beat on, it's a simple logo change.

If you look at some of the older RAT models, they seem to generate trade interest to a limited number of people, but not high dollar amounts. At least not publiclly. I wouldn't hesitate to use any of the old logo knives.
