I am really starting to like the Manix 2 FFG models I have seen, but the only ones I have seen are either the XL which is to large or the sprint run models. Am I missing something if so please point me in the right direction.

The lightweight version is FFG.

Yea I saw that model but im not sure about the steel on it and I would really like g10 scales with steel liners. Oh well I guess life is just full of compromises.

I've carried the blue lightweight Manix 2 for about 8 months now, and it's by far one of my favorite working knives.

I forget what they exactly they're calling the "co-polymer" they use for the handle, but it's extremely comfortable and lightweight. Don't really have a need for liners, IMO -- but it's a superb knife.

What about the blade steel in those? How does it compare to 154 or s3v?

If you've ever used a first generation endura/delica/police with Gin-1/G2 stainless it's a bit better than that, but not quite up to 154cm. It's quite tough though, if you can master the burr removal it takes a great toothy razor edge. I personally prefer it to s30v, but s30v is a love hate steel, and I'm not in the love camp :p

Probably not as the Sprint runs are long sold out.

I would like FFG because I am not for sure if hollow grind will do wood carving, food prep and general cutting.

It will do all of that easily. The FFG will do some of it better though. You can always get a regular hollow ground M2 and have it reground into a FFG. That's what I did.

My friend has hollow Byrd raven and it isnt realy good at carving. Maybe the manix´s hollow is better than byrd one. If it isn´t I will buy ritter griptilian (it has kind of FFG).

I'd buy the lightweight Manix 2 if it wasn't pin construction in a heart beat. I love my normal Manix 2, but having it light weight would be really nice! I just don't like the idea of pin construction.

Also, the hollow grind isn't an issue. I reprofiled the factory bevel on the sharpmaker to the recommended settings and it slides right through tough materials with ease. It was a little tough to do that with the factory edge, but once you thin out that bevel a bit it comes to life. Also, with that hollow grind, it's still nice and thick at the tip. Nice work knife.

It would be great if I could reprofile grind but my best sharpening device is sandpaper. If the hollow grind on manix 2 is better for carving than byrd raven´s than there is no problem.

Well, then you're in luck because Spyderco has incorporated a pivot screw in the most recent lightweight Manix 2's. The rest of the knife is pinned, but the pivot pin is a thing of the past.

I decided for ritter Grip over manix 2 but then I saw that international shipping from knifeworks is 50$
