Are the Orange Militaries limited production or not?

It's a Sprint Run. But when demand gets too high, they'll make more.
Haven't we been through this already? It's regular production now.:D

I wish they would make more Manix2 S90V's and Forum knives.

I bought one to use, and one to remain virginous, so I prefer that Spyderco make fewer rather than more.

But no one asked me. :)

I perfer if I buy a model that is said to be limited it stays that way.
Otherwise I wouldn't be in a hurry to buy it, or buy more than one.

I would hope that this would be the case too. As we now know it can change at any time for any model.

Wasn't there like an 8 page thread about this already with people moaning and groaning about production numbers? The Orange Military is no longer a limited production. The people spoke and got what they wanted, and that is for the Orange Military to be a regular production knife. Never believe what you see on Ebay. Most of the dealers selling there have little to no idea about what products they are selling and take information right off of other dealer's websites.

When there's 5 dealers all selling them as a limited to 600 run, still (and you tell them it's not and they say oh but it is, or it's 1200) I mean dealers like Spydieguys that sell a lot of volume and they know better. You tend to think they aren't just misinformed but taking advantage.
So, yeah I wanted to know the facts and I also wanted to know, for sure 100% when I trade the ones I have now.

If that's true, then they are very much misrepresenting the knife.
Buyers need to know that it is a regular production item. It's not hard to edit the listing.

100% agreed. Also, you should be listening to Sal as he is the man. If he says it's regular production then it is. I've purchased from Spydie Guys before and I've had great dealings with them, but they are misleading E-Bayers with their information on the Orange Millie. When a dealer says that there is a 600 piece limited run and they suddenly double that number when someone brings it to their attention you should know something is awry. Dealers are out to make a buck and some pull stunts to do so. Saying something is limited to 600 pieces makes it sell faster or for more money. Originally that's what was said. All these Dealers have to do is claim they never heard the news that they weren't limited anymore.

I linked the auctions to Amen and he saw it for fact that they are indeed still selling these as a "limited to 600 piece sprint run". I've even told the dealers more than once and they still are selling them as such.

I'm not disagreeing with you in that respect Jill. I've seen them on Ebay still claiming that they are part of a limited 600 piece run. All I'm saying is don't believe what you see on Ebay.

The sellers' have to make a quick buck, especially in this economy. They're probably buying the OR Millies by the truckload.

IIRC, Sal's comment on this was that, while Orange Militaries more would be made, he doubted it would ever be over 1200 pieces, total. Might have been here he said it, might have been on the Spyderco Factory Forum.

As for eBay sellers, I agree with Tony. There are days half the Spyderco listings there give me a chuckle.

I wasn't aware of this. I apologize and retract my statement of the Orange Mili being a regular production. If it's 1200 so be it. It is in the regular catalog though.

My main point was about dealers and sellers in general on Ebay and about how you can't believe everything they tell you. I've seen some listings for knives that have never even been produced, though they may not have necessarily been Spydercos.

Just think how many knives they'd sell if knives weren't demonized in schools these days. I gave the kid next door a Spyderco 2009 CATALOG and his mother was pissed at me. I told her there were some nice pink one's in there for her. She perked up a bit at that ;)

Well, some eBay sellers call CC numbered Spydercos Limited Edition, 1 of 200...

I've seen this many times. Some sellers have no idea what the numbers mean.
Then they make up some huge tale about it.:D:thumbup:
