Are the painted Spyderco pocket clips stainless?

Just bought a new (old)Persian 75mm with the stainless bolsters (that appears, and was described as unused - sweet ). Very pretty little knife with an awful pocket clip . It's painted the wrong color black with a yellow spider on the face and quite wide for the size of the knife.

If I strip the paint will I end up with a tin clip or is is stainless? I think a polished ss clip would be much nicer.

I polished some clips...they look real good, just like the stainless ones from spyderco. Next one im doing is my wifes purple delica with the fugly black clip.
