Are the scales on the M4 removable?

Hi all,

The scales on the M4 look removable, but I haven't tried. I can't find anyone else who has tried either, or an official statement.

Are the scales glued and bolted? Or just bolted? And is there thread locker on the bolts? Is this a thing I should be able to do to clean it after a particularly messy day?

I believe Cedric & Ada on YouTube just did a video on taking the handle off of his T5. Didn't look like any glue or thread lock, just bolted really solidly. Will likely need two bits to prevent the other side from spinning though.

I'd assume it would be the same for your M4, and likely for my M7 as well (I've been wondering the same thing as you).

Really great tang profile on that T5 too. Lionsteel did a great job with that.

Thanks for finding that video. It looks like takedown is not going to be too difficult, if ever it needs to be done.

Yes, M4 scales are removable. No surprises other than a tight fit.
