I saw a Buck Solo single blade slipjoint today and it looks like a nice replacement for my Schrade Pal 12OT.

Is it made here or over in China?

My Schrade is an older American made one; I really like the Solo but I'm not going to buy a Chinese made Buck.

Yes, the Solo is made in China as are all the wood handled 300 series I believe. Buck still makes the 300 series with the Charcoal Dymondwood here in the USA.

Yep, it's made in China.

Quick guide is if the first two model numbers are "37" or "38" it's from the import line.

That, and the "China" on at least one blade, or "Made In China" on the packaging. :)

I just gave over 30 Buck knives away that were made in China. I have found they sell for so much less once I put stone scales on them that they were simply not worth using.

I will say that the fit and finish on the China knives is just as good as the Idaho knives and I still will use their made in China Mini Trapper as there isn't anything like it made in the USA with it short and WIDE handle on such a small knife...
