Are there any “new” knife laws that have been passed (or are being considered) in California? And where, other than here, would I be able to find up-to-date info on California or anywhere in the USA for that matter. Doing a search on a .gov site is muddled at best.

My direct concerns are that there have been several posts on the new Camillus Dominator where Will Fennell has stated “We have made a few internal changes to the design to better comply with new California knife laws”. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=254501 .
“There are some new requirements regarding California knife laws and folders that we are re-enginnering a few small details of the knife to meet”
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=254710

The word “new” is what is bothering me because in this post (by another person, not Will himself, but a Camillus employee/affiliate that had talked to Will) http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=254710 it is stated that “I saw Will in passing last week. It was a quick chat but he said something to the effect that the "tweeking" had to do with getting around being classified as a gravity knife in CA”

Am I wrong in believing that California has classified a gravity knife as being illegal under the switchblade law for quite a number of years now? Are there any new knife related laws that residents (and visitors) should be made aware of? I just want to CYA in a semi-legal sense and know the what/when/where on carrying a knife.

Thanks for any response.
Todd

Edited to add:

I should have looked at the top of the forum before asking my question on where to look for info and not after I had already posted. Thanks for the links. No I just have to go through them.
