Are there any inexpensive folders utilizing tool steels?

I was just wondering if there were any inexpensive "tactical" folders that make use of tool steels... I own a couple of Benchmade AFCK's and love them. I'm kinda lusting after a Gayle Bradley from Spyderco, but the price tag is holding me back. Are there any good folders out there for less than $100...

There's the opera and mini opera from lionsteel. I handled them at blade show and they feel very good, especially for the price. They would make great edc blades, I'm not sure about "tactical". But the full size opera has a 3.54" blade which I wouldn't want to be cut or stabbed with....

what is your definition of "tool steel"? L6, D2, M4, M2 are all tool (and dye) steels, M2/M4 are also high speed tool and dye steels.

Any svord knife is made with L6 and they're all relatively inexpensive, BM and Kershaw have quite a few knives in D2/CPM-D2 BM and Spyderco have a few in M2/M4 some disco'd others still in production.

Kershaw Rake and the composite Junkyard Dog II have CPM-D2 bonded to 13c26n or 14c28n. They're fairly "tactical" I guess, the Rake is probably the more "tactical" looking of the two.

why don't you wait a couple of weeks and buy the GB you really want? Nobody here is going to talk you out of that! A lot of happy GB users on this forum. It will serve you well.

LOL Well, in this case, I'm using tactical to mean a single bladed, locking, knife with a pocket clip that can be opened and close with one hand. Preferably with a blade between 3.5" and 4" long. I don't know a better word that fits that description.

I don't need anything that LOOKS tactical. Just something useful that's not too crazy looking. I suppose I need to find a better word.

Yup, any/all of those. L6, O1, D2, M4, M2 etc. Something very hard wearing that will hold an edge a long time. I only have experience with D2 and M2, but I like both of them. I've had better luck with M2 so far.

Not tool steels...
but check out the Spyderco Manix 2. Spyderco Manix 2 XL. And the Spyderco Paramilitary 2. Excellent beautiful "tactical" type knives for $100 and under.
