i'll be moving there in january, and i'd like to try (desperately) to get a job at a knife shop if they have one...

i'll be filling out applications to everywhere that has applications, but i'd certainly make that my first choice....

they have a nice one over in Carmel but it is kind of spendy, as the whole town is

Actually there are TWO in Carmel. The one on 6th and Dolores is not that spendy and the guy is purdy nice. I got an Opinel from him. I'm sure he remembers big spenders like me.

:D

I.....SERIOUSLY....doubt any need for help at any knife store I can think of.

Well, maybe Wal-Mart, but you'd have to start out mopping the restrooms and hope you could live on their wages for 10-20 years until advancement time came around.
;)

I remember a nice store in Monterey but that was back during 83-86. Also there use to be 1 right as you entered Salinas coming from Monterey in a strip mall to the left.

Great area to live if you can afford it. Had to move after H.S. as my Step-father had lost his job. Good memories of the place.

I used to live in Monterey!
There are the two stores in Carmel previously mentioned, Carmel Cutlery and Adam Fox. Both are still nice, although they are not what they used to be. The owners and employees have been there for years, some are still there from when I was in High School! But in Moss Landing there is a Army surplus store that has a nice selection of knives, but it would be a twenty minute drive from Monterey.

Salinas? Monterey? goddamn! I grew up just outside of Salinas!!:D never knew of knife stores in Monterey, but look up Big5 sporting goods if they're still around and have a shop in Monterey (I don't mean to bring your hopes down but..when I left in '91 it was becoming "sheeple" central KNIVES?! GUNS?! OH GOD CALL THE POLICE!!!!! )

well, it was worth asking :D

i'll go to the ones in carmel and see if they would (even remotely possibly) need more/new help...

thanks for the responses :)

they also have some commercial knives in Salinas at trigger hill gun shop

Josh and guys, Let me know if I can help all with businesses of Carmel/Monterey. I do online marketing and mobile websites to help sell
local products. Carmel Cutlery still survives today. We all buy our machetes there for Big Sur CA ground clearing for $19.95 with belt case.
