That deal with wilderness survival and preparedness? I was at Barnes & Noble and did not see anything there. If there is, I fugured that you guys would know. The wealth of knowledge here is remarkable. From frequenting reading here, I have finally figured out what to put in those front pouches on my fixed blades:D

my first post here. Hopefully I will have something to contribute.

Thanks for the information guys. Wilderness Way I had not heard of, but Backwoodsman was what I remembered seeing that I could not find. Thanks for jogging the mind. I am off again to search for them again.

Any others out there feel free to post here.

Just curious but whatever happened to 'American Survival(ist)?

"American Survival Guide"was changed to "Self Reliance" and then went out of publication. The editor has started it back up as an on-line magazine called "Modern Survival" or something like that. A web search should bring you to it.

You are mentioning about American Survival Guide...., they're still alive... at least, the guy that first made American Survival magazine, around 1981-82.

But the magazine is an INTERNET magazine, not a "paper" magazine..., and the name is now "Modern Survival". You can check the internet magazine in http://magserver.net/modernsurvival/
They has the same of stuff, though.., part gear, part guns, part terrorist, etc.

The two best survival magazines I've read were "Survive" by Omega Group (publishers of SOF) and "Practical Survival." Backwoods Home is pretty good and can be found in stores. ASG was ok but mostly product reviews. IMO the value of that type of survival magazine is less than it used to be now that there are survival message boards which often give better information for free and are also interactive.
