Just curious. Can anyone offer some insight to this?

I love my native and I am having a hard time deciding what is going to be Spyderco #2.

There are about 10 new ones in the works. Do a search for the Blade Show(back in June). Good luck on picking only one.

Are there any pictures of the ATR yet? Any word on when there might be? I think Sal said he'd e-mail them to people if they asked, but I don't want to put him to the trouble of doing that. Thanks.

The ATR is awesome, not just in-itself, but in what the basic platform and certain refinements will bring to the Spyderco lineup in the long term.

The prohibition on pictures is in place because actual production is so far away, and the protoypes are still in development. I think they can show the knife once they have decided on its final form.

Here is a quote from Sal on the knife:

"Blade length - 3.5"
Blade steel - still to be determined, probably VG10.

Blade shape is unusual and quite difficult to describe. Basically a dagger grind with a chunk cut out of the top half, sharpened on edge side only.

Lock is an integral compression lock (first time)

Handle on the proto is Titan, although we'll probably make both steel and Titan handles (cost). Indexing holes in both the handle and clip (new style) for different size hands.

"Cobra hood" over hole for easy deployment (new concept).

14mm opening hole (Military size).

Very simple knife."

"Cobra hood"?? Sounds like a hook of some sort to deploy knife on the draw. Hmm....
