I am trying to find a Vanguard with a nickel hilt and butt cap... but it doesn't end there. In addition, I would like for there NOT to be any animals etched or cut into the blade or handle. The handle material isn't as important, but I would really prefer the blade was satin (not coated). Does anything like this exist? If not, what would it take to have one made? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!
 
Let me ask you a question (since I'm a dummy)...did Buck ever make a fixed blade with Nickel-Silver guard & pommel??? I've only seen the polished aluminum and the brass... :confused:

when I dig in the furthest corner of my brain I find an Information, that early 124 were delivered with stainless steel guard and pommel, but I'm not shure.

I have seen 2 with a nickel silver pommel and fingerguard.
Both had jigged buffalo handles. One was satin blade and one had the NRA cutout in the blade that was also satin finished...
They are out there! Good luck!!!

If you want one made I would get out the wallet and call Buck! :D

Chicken, I only said nickel because I assumed it was the most likely candidate. Stainless, chrome, aluminum or anything silver would be okay.

wh4f, do you have any other info about quantity or date of manufacture on the two you mentioned... or better yet, pictures? Thanks in advance!

I wish Buck did do stainless or nickel in the big fixed blades...My 119 and 120 are too light...and the grips are too short...the aluminum is easy to buff, but it's also easy to scratch or ding... :(

Did I mention I don't like FedEx??? :grumpy:

Not sure where that came from, but I don't like FedEx either! Pretty much the only things I own with brass/gold color are my 110s and 112s, so I'd like to stay with the nickel/silver theme if possible. With any luck I'll find one!
 
I know there are some nickel/silver 110/112s out there, and I could order one of those from Buck anytime if I wanted to, but the 192 is a very attractive knife to me and I would love to have one of those too. Thanks!
 
Tom, is that one actually nickel? It looks brass in the picture, but it could be the lighting. If I do find one with nickel, but I'm not a big fan of the handle material, is that something that can be changed? Thanks!
