I am a devotee of the Svord Peasant, a friction folder made in New Zealand, it is my favourite pocket knife. Are there any other devotees out there?

The Peasant is one of the best folders I have come across. I use it all the time for cutting leather, opening cartons, cutting string and rope etc. It has a wide drop-point blade of carbon steel with a convex edge. There was a knife text in 'Blade' by Kim Breed a few years ago.

JDEEBLADE, my editor Steven Dick gave me one of the Peasant folders some 6 or 7 years ago, and you are right it is a great cutter. I blued the blade and modified a nylon sheath for horizontal carry. It was the only way I could carry it comfortably with the way the back of the blade extends forward. I have used it quite a bit, the only other thing I did was to take it apart, then put a couple coats of TruOil gunstock finish on the wood, so it would not swell with mosture. It is a much under appreciated basic cutting instruement.

I've never seen such a bird:rolleyes:

no, seriously, anyone have a link or post a picture?

I'm a Gypsy does that count?0

I've seen them in the Blade magazine and the price was right, looks to be an interesting folder, I guess I'll have to save my money after I buy My Taurus 9MM P111 and get one.
